Hurisearch.org - Just in time for Human Rights Day - December 10, 2006
Huridocs, a group that supports non-profits, has released a search engine completely focused on Human Rights. It is called Hurisearch, and consists of an index of about 3,000 sites, 2.5 million pages in 77 languages. It is powered by Fast, another search engine, and has a lot of valuable information if you are doing research on human rights. Results come in almost 80 languages and can be sorted by language, country and organization. They also collections based on organizations suchas academic institutions and non-governmental organizations to help define the search even more.
This is a great example of a vertical search engine, and fills a niche that was lacking good resources.
Remember December 10th is Human Rights Day.
