ThisNext - More than a shopping search engine
ThisNext has put a new spin on shopping online. It is like podcasting and blogging and shopping all in one place. It adds to a fun and enjoyable shopping experience that gives people the opportunity to find cool things, and then tell other people about their experience.
They are very idealistic in their newly developed experiential site, almost like 1999.
ThisNext believes that better buying means better living. Great products can help us do, be and experience the things that make us happy. Our goal is to help people discover great and deeply gratifying products.
I guess the difference is they have a really cool product, that seems to work. It is also potentially very viral if enough bloggers and non-bloggers grab hold and tell their friends.
This is another shopping site with many really cool features such as recommend, discover and shopcast (kind of like podcasting); so I will only hit on one that I think is really cool. Shopcasting is the next big thing for MySpace and the social Web. ThisNext allows people to create a “badge” and some HTML that can be put onto their site. More from them:
When you make a shopcast list, you are letting the world know what you think is great and worth spending hard-earned money to buy. You are answering the question “What do you use?” for people who share your interests and POV. People who like your taste can then find and track your personal shopcasts or they can follow the collective wisdom of crowds to discover what the community recommends.
Go try it out, and see what other people on the Web are buying.
