ShopStyle - Another good shopping site
I found another cool shopping site tonight, called ShopStyle, which is similar to Like.com, but targeted to a more sophisticated crowd. The shopping site offers a stylebook feature that allows people to set up their own styles and share with others. As you may guess the majority of the stylebooks are designed for women by women, but their is also a lot of men’s products offered on the site. Ultimately it is another shopping vertical search with great images and a cool description pop-up when you put your mouse over the product. I certainly did not find any deals on the site, but the site design is not set for the frugal shopper. As you can see below:
Picture the fantasy fashion magazine—page after page devoted only to must-haves from the best stores and hottest designers. Now imagine shopping straight from those pages, without leaving home. That’s the need ShopStyle fills for the serious fashion consumer. And it’s just the beginning of a revolution in the fashion industry powered by technology.
With that said, there is a Sale link on the bottom left of the home page that will show discounts for all the different stores indexed on the site. Other ways a visitor can refine their search is by price, store, size and brand.
Like other search sites, visitors who find items they like do not actually purchase the product from ShopStyle; the purchase is made at the store where the product is located. Saves them a lot of hassle.
