I was out running this evening, and thought when is enough, enough. Not enough running, I don’t think that can happen, but enough of being fed, spiritually. It seems all I hear about is me, me, me. How can I be better equipped? How can I know more about Jesus? How can I feel better about my relationship with God?

Is it really about us? Jesus told us to make disciples of others, of the world, not out of our self. We already believe. Don’t we? If so, then why do we think it is about us? People are dying every day without ever hearing the word of God, and we sit here thinking. What about me? Why can’t I do what I want to do? Why doesn’t God work around my schedule? Why is that guy on the side of the street asking for money, and why should I have to help him? Doesn’t he know I had a bad day, too? Ultimately it is not about us and how we feel; it is about how others feel, and are they being served as Jesus would serve them.

Think about Paul when he is in prison writing to Timothy in First and Second Timothy. He has been in prison for about two years, and is more concerned about Timothy keeping the Way alive. Keeping the fire burning in Timothy’s heart and he pressed on against doubters, haters and new Christians who like to lean on their old pagan ways. With Paul we rarely see self-pity or “waiting to be fed”. It was about serving. He knew God would lead him in the right direction. I have found the best way to be fed is by serving others and helping others in Jesus’ name. Only then will we be truly fed.

As God’s Church we are called to Praise Him… We sing praise when we are in church every Sunday, but do we live praising God everyday? God is not only holy on Sunday’s, but everyday. Listen to this song, and live in praise to our God.

Our church as begun a new long-term project called Worship In Action. It is to help the members of the Church to focus on what God wants us to do to serve the world as one body. To start off the program they are having 50 Days of Prayers focusing on:

That loving the world the way God loves the world would lead you to a life of compassion, generosity and service (1 Jn 4:10; 3:18)

That God would give you the faith to say ‘yes’ to him–whatever he asks, whenever he asks (1 Cor 1:20; Isa 26:8)

That through you God would supply the resources and energy to make his saving power known among all nations (Psa 67:1-2; Eph 3:20-21)

There are times where we forget this part of serving God. Actually praying to him and asking for guidance and direction. Several well meaning Christian programs and projects fail because they are missing the main ingredient, God.

I hope and pray that Worship in Action and this blog will grow the way God wants them to grow. That we will not force our selves and “make” it work, but instead let God let it work in His will.

You can download the 50 Days of Prayer Reminder Card for your own projects, or to help pray for Talowood’s new endeavor.
